Climate Change

As I approach the end of life as I know it, I wonder just what will happen to the earth in the future.I have enjoyed so much natural beauty and fear that human beings still care more for materialism over everything else, even though they have been warned.

Will earth glow fluorescent from poisonous chemicals
Until no living creature or plant may breathe
Will a soft gentle green leaf turn the shade of angry red
Every spec of life is so precious--it moves-it sings
Dances--creates-- flows to a rythmic heartbeat
The ebb and flow of tides rise and fall
They become angry when we mess too much with nature
The Earth and Water are fighting us back
Will Fire and Air show us their power

A new year dawns

2011 and still alive ---amazing---I was born a couple of years ahead of those bl--dy baby boomers but somehow get lumped together with them and I don't even want a dishwasher. My Gran always taught me not to waste water or food or anything and then those boomers wanted to have and to hold and waste everything. I must admit I probably got swept along with a bit of that and now contemplating climate change, earthquakes, floods and general natural disasters i must confess to feeling more than a little ashamed.
I was watching a documentary today on Monte Carlo where rich people don't pay any taxes at all, consequently only rich people can afford to live there, admittedly a very beautiful harbour. Anyway I was thinking how very fortunate I am to live here on probably one of the most beautiful harbours in the world and not even have to be rich ( in monetary value) to live here.
The sky is blue and I have a brilliant outlook from my puter on trees, birds, grass and dandelions. Well there you go another year gone and I still have the chance to win lotto and of course paint some more pics that someone will have to dispose of when I snuff it, as I was reminded by a friend who in his line of work has had to do for others. Have a good one 2011.
