Bubbles
Bubbles --such a simple childish pass time I remember from my childhood and I have watched each generation derive pleasure from the same. We have created such complicated ways of spending our time and money and really it is the simple pleasures that stay with us always. A walk along a seashore with those we love, a family around the table sharing an ordinary meal,laughter warmth even arguments and heated debates would be better than the silence.These are the things I long for most and yet they are often to rare because of the time and place factor.
In the last portion of life we must put wants and longings aside and be grateful for still breathing,we are here but not to be taken seriously because we have had our chances and our day is nearly done. We listen, but who is listening to us and even if they do, how can they know what it is like for us until they get here themselves. Oh well just another day in the waiting room.

Hi Angela - I meant to thank you for your lovely comment on my poetry over at the Camel Saloon, back in April - so sorry it's taken me this long to say so.
ReplyDeleteYour post is very moving, full of beauty, the magic of childhood, and more than a little sadness.
Oh Rachel thanks so much for your comment, I do hope my post has not made you feel sad. I still have so much fun with my creative endeavours and now each day I speak with my few weeks old grandaughter on skype who is gorgeous. So life is not all bad. Lovely to hear from you my dear girl(<;
